Let’s Die Great!
I am flesh and blood,
But ‘cause of the hatred
I throw at the world,
‘Cause I live for self
And others’ shares gulp;
I am mortal not ‘cause
I am born to die,
But ‘cause I inflate
And value life so high
I just fear to die!”
Man is mortal, true! One who comes, has to go, true! We are born to die, true! But the question is how we live and how we leave. History is evident that since the evolution of mankind, in every era, people of great strength, character, insight and courage are born, become exemplary for the posterity to come, and remain immortal. Here, I am, a very simple common man, — not bestowed with all those great characteristics, unable to live great due to given psychosocial, intellectual, and so many other constraints — would like to at least die great. I wish before I exited, I paid all my debts to the world. Instead of dying like a dog in a road crash, I would like to kill at least a handful of most corrupt politicians of the country and be hanged unto death, who are sucking and selling out our motherland at every single opportunity and simply getting away just because of impotent law of the land.
Instead of living for 100 years ailing in a bed, waiting for the D’day, or doing “bhajana-kirtanas” in a temple, or doing “upasana or tapasya” just thinking what else can I do anyway, I would like to, if I could, blast like a thunderbolt on those nasty barbarian terrorists who do such heinous unmanly crime of killing hundreds of innocent people just in the name of religion (is it one anyway?) or … something else?
If I were to die young, the most honorable and colorful way would of course be nothing but to sacrifice the life as a soldier, protecting the motherland from enemies.
I would like to celebrate my departure, maybe in my fifties or sixties, by donating all my vital organs before they are too worn out to be reused, and giving opportunities to a few others to live a normal life like I lived, which they are not able to otherwise.
If we cannot live great, at least let us die great!
